Who Are We?

​A spiritual movement dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal. Founded in India in 1937, The Brahma Kumaris has centers in over 120 countries on all continents and has had an extensive impact on many sectors as an international non-governamental organization in general consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. This worldwide network of sacred spaces is made available for all people, from every walk of life. There are thousands of centers around the world practicing Raja Yoga.

There are spaces that touch the heart and soul in ways that you will never forget! In a world of increasing chaos and noise, there is a growing need for reflective environments where we can detach from the daily pressures of life. The Brahma Kumaris Meditation Center provides an oasis of peace to calm the mind and re-energize the spirit, the soul. This unique space connects you to the stillness and silence within, allowing you to go beyond stress and worry. The atmosphere encourages a deep transformation in your mind and heart that increases your capacity to live a peaceful, contented and happy life.

​The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization recognizes the intrinsic worth of each one of us. It provides opportunities for people from all backgrounds to plant the seed of their own spirituality and learn the skills of meditation and reflection. These skills offer a foundation for spiritual awakening that develops inner calm, clear thinking and personal well-being. This awakening brings deeper exploration of the thought patterns and feelings that underlie human creativity and transformation. These feelings then inspire actions that benefit both the individual and the world. These nurtured seeds lay the foundation for the emergence of a new future of peace and truth.



What We Do...

Meditation is a daily practice that takes us on an inward journey of self-discovery. Time for quiet reflection and silence, away from the hustle and bustle of daily living, enables us to re-center the self. In our complicated modern world, we have lost touch with our true inner peace and power. Raja Yoga helps you slow down and create a simple and happy life through meditation, spiritual study, discussion, and self-reflection. Regular practice nurtures your relationship with yourself and others, deepens your understanding of spiritual concepts, and brings your mind and heart back into balance. A flower grows to full bloom only when the seed that was planted is tended to properly. Make the garden of your life so beautiful through regular meditation with us!

Raja Yoga Meditation

​Raja Yoga meditation is a form of meditation that is accessible to people of all backgrounds. It is a meditation without rituals or mantras and can be practised anywhere at any time.
Raja Yoga 
meditation is practised with ‘open eyes', which makes this method of meditation versatile, simple and easy to practice. Meditation is a state of being in that place just beyond every day consciousness, which is where spiritual empowerment begins. Spiritual awareness gives us the power to choose good
and positive thoughts over those which are negative and wasteful. We start to respond to situations,rather than just reacting to them. We begin to live with harmony, we create better and happier,healthier relationships and change our lives in a most positive way.

Our Curriculum

​Meditation for beginners:
This 3-session course introduces Raja Yoga meditation in a gentle and easy way, using spiritual principles and understanding as the foundation for learning. Regular practice of this simple meditation technique improves concentration, develops peace of mind, and enhances your understanding of and relationship with yourself. This course is recommended for those who have little prior experience with meditation and are new to the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization.

Raja Yoga Meditation and Self-Realization:
Our core curriculum provides a practical approach to spirituality that can be used in everyday life: at work, at home, while driving, while walking etc. This course has 3 levels of 4 sessions each. You may attend the first level or all 3, it's up to you! Through this open-eyed meditation practice, we gain the power to choose good and positive thoughts over negative and wasteful ones. We learn to create harmony through happier, healthier relationships and positive life change. This course is recommended to those ready for a deep dive into spiritual concepts and practice, as well as those already familiar with the Brahma Kumaris. If level 3 is completed students will be invited to join our daily morning class and regular Center events for ongoing spiritual nourishment and support.

Self-development talks:
Learn from our experienced teachers about how to use spirituality and meditation in daily life. Some topics include From Anger to Peace, Positive Thinking, Stress-free Living, Create Self Esteem, etc. These one-hour talks are offered once or twice a month and provide a great introduction to our meditation center and what we offer.

Mini Retreats:
Take time out over the weekend and go deeper into a spiritual experience. The content of these half-day retreats features a variety of topics including: Meditation for Beginners, Raja Yoga Meditation and Self-realization, Inner Peace and Inner Power, Cooking with Consciousness, Experiments in Silence, and other self-development topics. Give yourself the gift of time and spend a morning with us!

Drop - in Weekly Sessions
Evening Meditation:
Unwind from your day with an experiential meditation session! Take the opportunity to practice collective meditation with guided commentary, music, and silence followed by a short insightful message. Offered Monday through Friday at 7 pm and Sundays at 6:30 pm. Open to beginners and experienced meditators. Join us in person or online!

World Peace Meditation:
​On the 3rd Sunday of every month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm local time, over 8500 BK Centers in 120 countries open their doors for World Peace Meditation Hour. All participants are invited to dedicate one hour to world peace through silence, special guided meditation, and reflection. Take part in creating a wave of peace that travels clear across the globe! Join us in person or online!

How to Register
  •  Register at www.bknewengland.org or by calling the Center at 617-926-1230.
  •  Our programs are offered in person as well as online.
  •  Private classes are available upon request.
  •  The curriculum is offered in English, Spanish, Hindi and other languages.
  •  The Center is open for drop in evening meditation from 7 to 7:30pm Monday through Friday and 6:30 to 7:30.
  •  Sundays. No Registration is necessary.

​How We Work
The Center is managed entirely through a network of dedicated volunteer Raja Yoga teachers and students who come from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds. Their contributions are monetary, physical (by giving of time, energy, and skills), and intellectual (through our teacher training programs). All classes and programs are offered as a free service to the community. Contributions are gratefully accepted
